Forty nine feared drowned as boat sinks in Bangladesh
Almost 50 people are feared drowned after a boat capsized in a river in southern Bangladesh.
The boat, packed with nearly 150 passengers, was hit by a larger ferry in the Kalabadar river, off Mehendiganj.
At least 100 people swam ashore or were picked up by fishing boats.
Some of them escaped using life jackets thrown from the ferry, witnesses said.
Forty nine people are feared drowned.
Fishermen have found one body and rescuers are searching for those missing and feared dead.
A salvage vessel is on its way to the accident site.
