Four policemen jailed for setting dogs on black people
Four white South African policemen were jailed for 17 years each today after admitting setting their dogs on three illegal immigrants from Mozambique.
A video-tape of the incident showed the policemen laughing as the dogs attacked their victims in what the judge in Pretoria described as a cruel and sadistic act.
During the trial, the court heard that it was common practice among South African police to train their dogs by setting them loose on innocent black prisoners.
