Witch doctor found guilty of killing girlfriend's baby

A South African has been found guilty of murdering a baby girl because he did not think she was human.

Sipho Khumalo was convicted at Durban High Court of the murder of his girlfriend's three-month-old baby.

The self-proclaimed witch doctor told the court only he could see Zama Gcabashe was inhuman. She was killed in October 1999.

A post-mortem examination found she had severe bruising, swelling of the feet, broken ribs and a damaged liver when she died.

Khumalo is due to be sentenced on January 25.
