More US troops deployed close to Kandahar

More American troops have been deployed close to Kandahar as the US closes in on the Taliban hoping to put an end to their rule in the city.

Taliban convoys have also been under attack in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif and a prison riot by captured fighters has been brought under control after three days of bloody battles.
