Taliban soldiers fear death if they surrender

Face to face meetings are underway between the Taliban and the Northern Alliance leaders around the city of Kunduz.

The Alliance are trying to get some fighters to defect in the Northern Afghan stronghold.

Reports from Kunduz from Northern Alliance Generals say that the Taliban soldiers they are meeting say they would rather fight to the death than change sides.

They claim that more than 400 Taliban soldiers were killed by the hardcore Taliban when they expressed an interest in surrendering.
