Pope John Paul has invited representatives from all the world's religions to come to Italy for a day long joint prayer for peace after the terrorist attacks in America on September 11.

In his weekly address to crowds at Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome, the Pope called on Christian and Muslim representatives to gather next year for a special ceremony for peace.
