Talks begin for Afghan government
The United Nation's special envoy in Kabul has said a conference must be set up outside Afghanistan to create a broad based government for the country.
Francesc Vendrell arrived in the capital last night to begin talks with former President, Burhanuddin Rabani and other officials.
The calls for the conference have been supported by the Bush administration in Washington DC.
The Northern Alliance has defied calls from President Bush not to enter Kabul as the Taliban were retreating last week.
