Arafat renews call for Israeli troops to withdraw from West Bank

The Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, says he remains committed to peace but Israel must withdrawn from the entire West Bank, Gaza strip and East Jerusalem.

The US have continued efforts to re-establish the peace process, as violence continues in the region. Israeli troops raided the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza early today, triggering a gun battle that left a 23-year old Palestinian dead and 13 wounded.
