Taliban say bin Laden and Mullah Omar are safe

The Taliban today said their leader Mullah Omar, Osama bin Laden and other top officials are alive and well following the fall of Kabul to the opposition Northern Alliance.

Taliban forces were now heading for their southern stronghold of Kandahar, and had been told by Mullah Omar to prepare to wage guerrilla war, the official told the Iranian news agency.
