Boy dies in house fire in UK
A nine-year-old boy died and his two younger brothers were injured today in a house fire in Bolton.
Two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation after they pulled the three youngsters out of the house in Bury New Road.
A police spokeswoman said fire crews were called to the scene just after 1pm.
The two surviving boys - aged one and four - were being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation.
The spokeswoman said: ‘‘The nine-year-old boy was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
‘‘The other two children are still receiving treatment. The cause of the fire has not yet been established and investigations are continuing.’’
