Security high ahead of WTO meeting
The city of Doha in the Gulf state of Qatar has become a virtual fortress today as the world’s leading capitalists gather for a meeting of the World Trade Organisation.
Hundreds of soldiers and police have been deployed in Doha to ensure the event passes without disruption.
The WTO meeting in Seattle two years ago marked the birth of mass anti-capitalist protests in the West.
However, this time around, the real fear is Islamic terrorism.
