Rebels kidnap 80 schoolboys in Burundi
Hutu rebels in the African nation of Burundi have kidnapped 80 boys aged between 13 and 15 during a raid on three schools in the east of the country.
The rebels also abducted four teachers during yesterday’s raid near Ruyigi, 60 miles east of the capital, Bujumbura.
Burundi’s Hutu rebels have been fighting the Tutsi-dominated Government for the last eight years. The fighting has intensified since a transitional government was installed on November 1.
