The audience at the Harry potter premiere has given the film a resounding thumbs up.

One of the first to leave was Sarah Ferguson with her two daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugene.

Ms Ferguson said the film was brilliant.

"It is brilliant," she said. "I thoroughly enjoyed it and the girls loved it."

Natalie Appleton, who was with her daughter Rachel, also praised the film. "It was magical," she said.

Cliff Richard, with his nephew Philip, described it as a "wonderful" movie.

"The whole film is absolutely brilliant. I loved it. It was wonderful," he said.

And his nephew agreed: "It was great but it was a little scarier than the book."

Robbie Coltrane, who plays Hagrid, said it is a fantastic film which will delight everyone.

As author JK Rowling left the cinema, she gave the thumbs up to the thousands of fans still packed into Leicester Square.
