US bombers target Taliban in North

US warplanes resumed bombing early today on several Taliban positions in an effort to clear the way for advances by forces opposed to Afghanistan’s ruling movement.

The US forces targeted Taliban lines around the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif as part of an ongoing effort to pave the wave for the opposition northern alliance to move on the city.
