Rapid reaction troops rehearse lightning attack

British rapid reaction troops who could be called on to fight a ground war in Afghanistan are to stage a mock attack on an enemy airfield as part of a training exercise.

Although not yet part of the UK deployment in the current conflict, 16 Air Assault Brigade could play a vital role in future operations against the Taliban and the al Qaida terrorist network.
