Turkish officials escape unhurt in Greek crash
A group of Turkish officials travelling to Athens by bus survived a road accident unharmed that left two passengers in another vehicle dead, police said yesterday.
The 21-member delegation, that includes the mayors of several Turkish towns, was due to attend an annual prize-giving ceremony tomorrow, honouring Greek-Turkish friendship, known as the Ipekci Awards.
The accident occurred when an oncoming car slammed into their bus near the town of Katerini, 280 miles north of Athens.
