The US Government has tightened its immigration laws, giving law enforcement agencies the power to expel anybody who supports or endorses terrorism.

Attorney General John Ashcroft has asked the State Department to designate another 46 groups as "terrorist organisations", whose members will no longer be allowed to enter the US.
