'Cheap copy' turns out to be masterpiece

A painting thought to be a cheap copy has been rediscovered after 350 years and found to be worth millions of pounds, it was reported today.

The Madonna and Child by Andrea del Sarto, a masterpiece once owned by the British Royal Family, disappeared from the records following Charles I’s execution.
