US release planes held in anthrax scare

Two US aircraft impounded over a suspected anthrax alert have been released by the FBI.

The Northwest Airlines planes were grounded on arrival in San Francisco and Seattle.

The flights from Japan were temporarily held away from passenger terminals amid fears someone on board may be carrying anthrax.

Sources say 170 passengers were held on board for 50 minutes before two male passengers were removed for questioning.
