Indonesia's former military chief in corruption quiz
Indonesia’s former military chief General Wiranto was questioned today in connection with a burgeoning corruption scandal.
The affair centres on the misuse of £3.5m from the state food distribution agency, Bulog, in 1999.
Akbar Tandjung, parliamentary speaker and also chairman of ex-dictator Suharto’s Golkar Party, has been accused by the former head of Bulog of having taken £2.6m from the agency’s coffers and used it to finance the party’s 1999 electoral campaign.
