Peres and Arafat to meet this weekend

Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres is reportedly planning a meeting with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat this weekend in an effort to restart the faltering Middle East peace process.

The meeting will be the first high-level contact between the two sides since the Israeli army invaded six Palestinian areas this month, killing tens of Palestinians.
