A New Jersey postal worker has been diagnosed with pulmonary anthrax, while the US Justice Department said the bacteria has been discovered in an off-site centre that processes its mail.

A spokesman for the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention stressed that the new incident in New Jersey is not a new case but one that was previously listed as suspected.
