Israeli soldier killed in drive-by shooting

An Israeli soldier has been killed in a drive-by shooting as violence continues in the West Bank.

A group linked to Yasser Arafat's Fatah Movement said it carried out the attack following the death of one of its members.

The killing comes after Israel maintains its presence in six Palestinian controlled towns after it was hoped they would withdraw after negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

However due to instability in the area, forces have remained.
