US President George W Bush has outlined a series of draconian measures that will give law enforcement agencies in the US the power to intercept all private communications.

The new anti-terrorism bill which Mr Bush signed into law today will allow organisations like the CIA and the FBI to intercept all post, e-mail, Internet and telephone communications on the grounds that these means could be used by terrorists.
