Yeltsin on holidays in Crimea

Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin travelled today to Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula for a holiday, his spokesman said.

Yeltsin, 70, will spend about 10 days by the sea, the spokesman said.

The former president has limited his public appearances since his surprise resignation on December 31, 1999. He has often been in ill health, though he appeared healthy when he appeared at a tennis tournament in Moscow earlier this month.
