Couple arrested on charges of smuggling children

Albanian police have arrested two people on suspicions they were involved in smuggling children from Albania to Italy, a spokesman from the interior ministry said today.

Gjon Staka, 47, and his wife Vera, 34, are suspected of having smuggled 20 children from Albania to Italy to reunite them with their parents, illegal immigrants in Italy, police said.
