Taliban meet to discuss response to US attacks

The Taliban Cabinet have met in Kabul to discuss measures on how to cope with the increasing US air attacks.

Spokesman, Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi, says the meeting has decided to distribute weapons, including rocket launchers, heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft guns to villages and other areas to protect them against further strikes.

The Cabinet expressed satisfaction the manner in which they fought American commandos in Kandahar and repeated their resolve to fight the US aggression with full religious zeal.

Muttaqi said they have also made arrangements to provide medical aid to those injured in the bombing.

The Taliban appealed to the Islamic world to give donations for the care of injured and the families of those who died in the attacks.

The Cabinet also decided to increase security for the aid agencies and their volunteers and asked them to continue their operations.

They denied reports their forces looted the offices of some aid groups and claimed the stories were being spread to discredit them.
