Israel and White House clash over Bush claim

Israel has criticised the reiteration of support for a Palestine state by US President George W. Bush.

At a news conference last night, Mr Bush said he believed if the Middle East parties could end the latest outbreak of violence in the region, and begin political talks, “there ought to be a Palestinian state”.
