Palestinian militant kills himself on way to plant bomb

A Palestinian militant from Hamas, has blown himself up while trying to plant a bomb.

He was trying to plant the bomb on a road used frequently by Israelis in the West Bank.

Hamas say he died under "heroic" circumstances.

The dismembered body of 22-year-old activist Hani Rawajbeh was found near a road used by Israeli soldiers and Jewish settlers.

Hamas said in a statement that Rawajbeh died while carrying out a "heroic operation," but did not give additional details.

Hamas has planted numerous roadside bombs in the past year of Israeli-Palestinian fighting. Over the years, a number of Hamas activists have been killed by explosives which went off prematurely.
