Helicopter shot down - UN observers feared dead

A helicopter carrying six UN military observers and three crew members was shot down today over Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazian region.

At least three people were feared to have died. Abkhazian officials claim that a group of Chechen and ethnic Georgian rebels invaded the Kodor Gorge region of Abkhazia in recent days.
