Attacks on Afghanistan focus on airfields and training camps

The first US/British strikes in Afghanistan were focused on military targets such as airfields and command centres.

Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said that one goal was to destroy any aircraft or anti-aircraft weapons in the hands of the ruling Taliban militia or the al-Qaida terrorist network it shelters.
