Bush tells nation "We will not fail"

US President George W. Bush has told the American people that US and British forces were taking “targeted actions” against the terrorist network and Taliban military capabilities during an address to the nation.

“We will win this conflict by the patient accumulation of successes. We will win this conflict by the patient accumulation of successes," Bush said from the White House Treaty Room as explosions rocked Kabul, the Afghan capital.
