Ambush victim 'returning to England'

Australian ambush victim Joanne Lees is to return home to England.

Her boyfriend Peter Falconio has been missing since July when it's believed he was shot by a gunman.

Miss Lees says she is frustrated at the lack of police progress in the investigation.

She told reporters: "I can't understand how no-one knows the person responsible.

"I feel close to Peter while I am still here, but I have decided to come home - it will be a big step for me."

Police say Mr Falconio, 28, and Miss Lees, 25, were ambushed near Barrow Creek, north of Alice Springs.

The couple are both from Huddersfield.

Miss Lees escaped and alerted police.
