Taliban prepares to free journalist

The Taliban was tonight preparing to free British journalist Yvonne Ridley as Prime Minister Tony Blair said everything was now in place for a military strike.

Ms Ridley, seized on September 28 after she entered Afghanistan illegally, could be released ‘‘within hours’’, according to her colleagues.
