Tornadoes leave 10 dead in Bangladesh
Ten people are dead after a tornado hit northern Bangladesh.
Nearly 50,000 villagers are homeless.
Rescue efforts have been hit by heavy rain.
At least 10,000 mud-and-straw or tin-roof huts were torn to pieces as three separate tornadoes hit about 50 villages in the neighbouring districts of Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari and Gaibandha.
Many villagers were returning from mosques as the funnel clouds struck, tearing houses, trees and electricity poles, said a Government administrator.
Seven people, including three children, died in Lalmonirhat district, while three other fatalities were reported in neighbouring Nilphamari.
