Blair hails new post-cold war chapter

British Prime Minister Tony Blair tonight hailed Russia’s decision to stand alongside the International Coalition against terrorism as evidence of a new post-cold war era.

Mr Blair, stood alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin during a break in talks expected to last through the evening and told reporters: ‘‘I believe something has happened in our world today which is immensely important.’’
