US to give $320m to Afghan population

The US Government is to give $320m to the Afghan population, which has been almost completely starved of humanitarian aid since the US began preparations for air strikes on the impoverished country.

President George W Bush said the funding will be distributed to charities and aid agencies throughout Afghanistan.
