Mid-East truce talks resume despite violence

Truce talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians resumed today despite yesterday’s upsurge in violence, which left eight Palestinians and two Israelis dead.

Two senior Palestinian officials met Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres in an undisclosed location in Jerusalem to discuss the possibility of stabilising a shaky ceasefire.
