Chaos as thousands queue to get out of Switzerland
Hotels and airlines moved to help thousands of stranded passengers today as the Swiss Government pressed Swissair and the largest banks to find a lasting solution to the sudden shutdown of the airline.
Zurich Airport, headquarters of the Swiss national flag carrier hard hit by repercussions from the US terror attacks, remained chaotic a day after all flights were cancelled because banks failed to provide promised cash and fuel suppliers and other airports demanded payments in advance.
