Death toll from Kashmir attack rises to 38
The death toll from yesterday’s rebel attack on Kashmir’s main parliament building has risen to 38 after seven more bodies were found this morning.
Yesterday’s assault by the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohamed militant group began when the two attackers detonated a car bomb outside the state legislature in Srinigar.
The rebels then entered the building and opened fire with automatic weapons, sparking a gunfight that lasted for seven hours.
31 people were confirmed dead yesterday, but another seven bodies were found amid the wreckage of the car bomb today.
