Kashmir parliament attacked, 15 dead

There has been a major explosion outside the state parliament in Kashmir.

A suspected Islamic militant drove a car to the assembly building and blew it up. Witnesses say at least 15 people have been killed.

For the past 12 years more than a dozen Islamic militant groups have been fighting for independence from India.

Pakistan openly supports many of the militants.
