US and British warplanes have attacked two sites in southern Iraq which they claim were a threat to aircraft patrolling the no-fly zones established after the end of the Gulf War.

US and British warplanes have attacked two sites in southern Iraq which they claim were a threat to aircraft patrolling the no-fly zones established after the end of the Gulf War.

The US Army said the targets of the attacks were anti-aircraft artillery sites.
