Dutch police have arrested two men at a European nuclear research centre after they were found on the site with false identity papers.

The institute in Petten is home to several nuclear research facilities and the Netherlands’ only nuclear reactor.

Police declined to confirm television reports that the men had been inside the centre and were apprehended while leaving the site.

They also refused to reveal details of the men’s nationalities and identities.
