Local authority workers fanned out in the Thai capital Bangkok today to round up stray dogs after one rabid animal went on the rampage and bit at least 52 people in three hours, officials said.

The Bangkok Municipal Administration warned dog owners to put collars on their pets, as they were sending out teams of catchers to round up strays which plague the capital, especially at open markets and Buddhist temples.
