Taliban says 300,000 Afghans mobilised for Holy War

Afghanistan's ruling Taliban says it has mobilised 300,000 Afghans for a Holy War against the US.

Defence Minister Mullah Obaidullah says large-scale preparations for war are under way.

He states in the present situation the ministry of defence has registered an extra 300,000 men who are "experienced in jihad".

He says: "They have been registered in the capital, the borders and other important sites."
