Sanctions against India, Pakistan likely to be lifted

US President George W Bush has lifted key sanctions against India and Pakistan that were imposed after the two nations tested nuclear weapons in 1998.

The move came last night after an American military delegation headed to Pakistan this weekend for consultations on US preparations for a military strike against Afghanistan.
