Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres has said Israel will not retaliate for yesterday’s drive-by shooting in the West Bank and will honour an American request to restart peace talks with the Palestinians.

Mr Peres said in the 53 years of Israel’s existence, the US has never turned down a request from the Israelis.
