European Union leaders are expected to meet in emergency session in Brussels today to discuss the fall-out from last week’s attacks on America.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Foreign Minister Brian Cowen will represent Ireland at the talks, which are expected to focus on how to offset the damage the attacks caused to the European economy.
