American Airlines to shed 20,000 jobs

American Airlines, the world’s largest carrier, has announced plans to lay off at least 20,000 workers following last week’s attacks in the United States.

The announcement follows job losses at almost every airline as the demand for seats declines and the cost of security and insurance increases.
