Tokyo: Gangland turf battle kills one
A man with alleged links to one of Japan’s largest organised crime syndicates was shot by a group of mobsters, police said today, in the latest outbreak in a widening gangland power struggle.
The unidentified assailants yesterday burst into an office where the 61-year-old man was sitting and shot him in the stomach and in his right thigh, while a group of other people in the room were beaten, said a Tokyo metropolitan police official who demanded anonymity.
